Sometimes it seems that everybody and their dog has to have blog these days.
Over the last twelve months or so we have seen more members of the MainStream Media, muscling in on the garden blogging scene, which used to be almost exclusively amatuer, in status and outlook (and perhaps the better for it) .
But it hasn't stopped at that, now any organisation, or movement, or campaign feels compelled to have one too (c/f Landshare, Dig In and the like)
Where will it end?
Anyway, that aside - be it amatuer or pro, Franciscan or Courtesan, whether created for love or money, what is your favourite new blog of the last 12 months?

No question it's the King, it's Nigel C and his SilverTreeDaze. Totally brilliant. I almost put it down for best Blog and then felt it would be disloyal against Jimbobbers. But it's an amazing blog. I would buy a book of it. It's so well written, plus he has the most enormous amount of knowledge, plus his photos are nice, plus he's really funny. How much more could you want? Oh yes, really interesting things about what's on tv and about classical music. Basically, perfect.
ReplyDeleteI'm voting for Littlegreenthings - love dawns's take on gardening and struggling with small kids as well.
ReplyDeleteCan I enter myself in this one too?!
ReplyDeleteRyan (http://ryans-garden.blogspot.com)
Okay, just checked out Silvertreedaze for the first time and I vote for this one, too.
ReplyDeleteOf course you can Ryan, but Mr C seems to be destined to win most of these awards.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't help wondering if your copious Twittering with Maggie Philbin will help your cause.
Best of Luck tho'
My vote's got to be for SilverTreeDaze. However, I am still going to be ridiculously happy to have even been nominated!
ReplyDeleteI happy with Mr C winning them all! lol
ReplyDeleteJust thought I would be self promoting for a change! What's wrong with Maggie Philbin?
Im actually reading one of NIgel's books . . . enough said I think.

The Guardian
Carrots and Kids - love it, and how she manages all this with five children of her own I do not know...
ReplyDeletex Elspeth
Fennel and Fern - she's only been up and running since last August - she has beautiful photos, great advice about stuff I'd never heard of, and she features other people's gardens as well as her own, which I've never come across before.
ReplyDeleteCan I enter myself ? No one else has :(
ReplyDeleteGrow Our Own
I am going with Ryan and throwing myself in....

Why not.......
I second a nomination for Grow Our Own, Northern Ireland's finest blog on allotment related adventures and.... stuff. Also featuring heavy tool action, harcore manuring and philosophical procrastinating. The stuff dreams are made of, via the medium of blog.
ReplyDeleteohhh...Fennel and Fern! I wasn't a big fan of it before, but since the relaunch, it is truly scrumptious! Plus she has saved my veg plot from slugs with her cunning ways...
